Dallas "Carl" Pack, age 67, of Lorain, died on Friday, June 5, 2009, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a long illness.
He was born on July 31, 1941, in Harts Creek, West Virginia, moving to Lorain in 1959, where he had lived the remainder of his life.
Carl was employed at Ford Motor Co. for 40 years, retiring from there January 1, 2000. His position at Ford was as a booth cleaner and previous to this, he was a Group 3 utility man. He was a member of the UAW Local 2000. Carl was a member of the Family Worship Church and attended New Haven Baptist Church.
Carl enjoyed being with his grandchildren, shopping for and buying cars, going out to eat at Georges Restaurant, and watching TV.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra D. (nee Harmon), sons; Danny (Diane), of Avon Lake, David (Sandra), of Lorain, and Charles "Chuck", of Kansas City, MO, step-daughter, Nicole Harman, of Lorain, his 5 grandchildren; Nicole and Joshua, (of Danny), and William, Michael, and Susan, (of David), brothers; Landon, of Indianapolis, IN, Michael, of W. VA, and John, of TX, and a sister, Ada Melton, of VA.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Betty (nee Grimmett), in 2006, his parents; Keither and Della (nee Williamson) Pack, brothers; Albert, Ervin, and Amos, and a sister, Mary Wellman.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 8, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at the New Haven Baptist Church, 5290 French Creek Road, Sheffield Village, OH. The Rev. Dale Smith, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
