Daniel "Danny" Cruz, Jr., age 59, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at his residence, following a sudden illness.
He was born on April 3, 1947 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, living in Lorain since 1950.
He served in the US Navy.
He worked for the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant as a lineman for 20 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and the United Auto Workers Union Local #425.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, mechanics, building things and carpentry, working with his hands and relaxing in his "Cruz Corral".
He is survived by his wife: Patricia (nee Bahre), sons: George Cruz, of St. Paul, MN, Steven Cruz of Lorain, daughters: Annetta Cruz, of Arecibo, PR, Batima Cruz, of Lorain, 4 grandchildren and sister: Cookie Moore, of Elyria and his longtime companion: Lourdes Lopez, of Lorain and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Daniel Cruz in 1999 and Ana (nee Valentine) Cruz in 1990.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and also on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a mass at Sacred Heart Chapel at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
