David Kozar, age 80, of Lorain, died on April 22, 2012, at Lake Pointe Health Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on February 7, 1932 in Lorain, where he's been a lifelong resident. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1949 and attended Ohio State University and Oberlin School of Commerce.
David was employed as a bookkeeper for Cloverdale, he also was employed at US Steel, Fruehoff and Harshaw Chemical.
He was a member of Church of St. Peter, prior to this St. Vitus Catholic Church and the Croation Fraternal Union #136.
He is survived by sister: Mary Ann McQuate, of Lorain, his nephews: Darryl (Renee) McQuate, of Wadsworth, OH, Daniel (Jennifer) McQuate of Fairview Park and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Blaz and Zora (nee Ilijanich) Kozar.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, will officiate along with David's cousin, deacon John Strmac. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
