David Maldonado

David Maldonado, age 60, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

A lifelong resident of Lorain, David was born on December 22, 1962 to Ismael Maldonado and Maria Rivas.  He graduated from Southview High School in 1981. Following high school, David joined the Army where he served for 13 years, many of which were stationed in Germany.  For 27 years he served as a correctional officer at Lorain Correctional Institution.

David was a die-hard Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan.  He also enjoyed camping with his fiancé and friends as well as salsa dancing and golfing.

Surviving are his sisters: Brunie (Tito) Rodriguez and Jackie Maldonado; fiancé: Marilyn Marmion; stepson: John Marmion; nieces: Carla and Ana and nephews: Gilbert Antonio, and Damian as well as his great-nephew and godson, Niko.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents as well as his brothers: Gilbert Maldonado and Ismael Maldonado Jr.
