David A. Zaborniak, age 52, of Lorain, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 6, 2008.
A life long resident of Lorain, he was born on June 26, 1955. He graduated from Lorain Catholic High School in 1973.
He presently worked at Superior Lamp and previously Smitties Distributing for 25 years.
He was a member of the Lorain Elks Lodge. For over 25 years he was a referee for Ohio high school basketball. He coached Little League for his children when they were younger, and he was currently the assistant coach for the Varsity baseball team at Clearview High School.
An avid sports fan, he especially liked the Browns and Indians. He was also an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Karen (nee Lovelace); 2 sons, Andrew and Matthew, both at home, and a daughter, Angela (James) Skinner, of Georgia; 2 granddaughters; Madisyn and Kailee, and his parents Edward Sr. and Germaine (nee Kocak) Zaborniak, of Lorain. He is also survived by his brother, Edward Jr. (Danielle), of Amherst and 2 sisters, Diane (Charlie) Monschein, of Wellington and Lynn (Bill) Faria of Akron.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 9, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be on Saturday, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. at Church of St. Peter. Rev. Fr. Chuck Henkle, OFM Conv., associate pastor, will officiate.
