Deana G. "Nani" Ybarra (nee Garza), age 55, of Lorain, died on Monday, August 22, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, following a very brief illness.
She was born on September 24, 1955 in Lorain, where she has lived her entire life. Deana attended Admiral King High School.
She was employed as the head cook for Ohio Extended Care for more than 30 years.
She enjoyed cooking and always enjoyed lending a helping hand to others. She also loved spending time with her family and loved shopping at Marc's.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel Orlenas, mother, Rosa (nee Cantu) Hernandez, sons; Christopher Ybarra and Adam (Carmen Molina) Ybarra, both of Lorain, and granddaughter, Amerah Ybarra, brothers; Elmer Garza, of San Antonio, TX, Ernest Garza, of Lorain, Edward Garza, of North Carolina, Richard Garza, of Lorain, and Gilbert Garza, of Houston, TX, and her sister: Norma Hess-Alcala, of Lorain. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer and her brother, Henry.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where prayers will be held Sat., at 10:15 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am, at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. John C. Retar, Pastor of St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Parish, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
