Debra L. Pruchnicki (nee Fraley), age 70, of Sheffield Village, passed away at her home following a lengthy illness on Saturday, November 6, 2021, while under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Born August 23, 1951, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, she moved to Lorain in 1955. Debra graduated from Lorain High School in 1969 and attended business school. In 1977 she moved to Sheffield Lake and in 1987 she settled in Sheffield Village.
Debra worked as an assembler for 12 years at Ford Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, retiring in 2004. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Sheffield and the United Auto Workers Union Local 2000.
She loved taking care of her family and her priority was her grandchildren. Debra enjoyed arts and crafts, making jewelry, and gardening.
Surviving are her children, Chad Pruchnicki of Lorain and Justin Pruchnicki of Avon; 5 grandchildren; her life partner, Cliff Johnson of Sheffield Village and his children, Michael (Sarah) Johnson and Jessica (Scott) Kriz; and his 2 grandchildren and a grandchild on the way; a brother, Kenneth Fraley; sisters, Audrey Ann McDowell, Sandra Teets, and Elenor Gay Bryner.
She was preceded by her husband of 20 years, Leonard “Pooch” Pruchnicki in 1991; parents, Chester and Sarah (nee Hess) Fraley; and a brother, Ron Fraley.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Saturday at 10:15 a.m. followed by 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Teresa Avila Parish, 1878 Abbe Road, Sheffield. Rev. Jerome Lajack will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Twp. Contributions can be made in memory of Debra to St. Teresa Avila Parish, 1878 Abbe Road, Sheffield, Ohio 44054.
