Delia Veronica Reyes (nee Reid) age 68 of Amherst, died on Friday, October 3, 2014, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, following a brief illness.
She was born January 24, 1946 in Narin, Scotland. She came to the United States in 1956. Delia graduated from Marion L. Steele High School, in 1963. She attended Oberlin College.
Delia was employed at Murray Ridge School for 15 years and worked with special needs adults for another 15 years.
She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with her husband.
Survivors include her husband, Ignacio, sons, James Bessette, Tony Bessette of Elyria; step children, Guillermo Reyes, Alfred Reyes, Juan Reyes and Guadalupe Reyes, brother, John Reid of Florida and 8 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Norman & Cordelia Reid.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue Lorain. Rocky Ortiz, Deacon of Sacred Heart Chapel, will conduct a service at 6:30 pm.
