Delmas E. Rucker, 71, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Autumn Aegis Retirement Community, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born August 25, 1944 in Sutton, West Virginia, he has lived in Lorain for the past 50 years.
Delmas served in the US Army as a sergeant. He worked at the Elyria Foundry as a crane operator for 34 years, retiring in 2007. Prior to this, he worked at Ford Motor Company for 4 years.
He was a member of Tower Baptist Church, Lorain, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, working on cars and helping others.
Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Linda (nee Long); sons, Ronnie E. of Lorain and Terry L. of South Amherst; grandson, Terry Rucker; a brother, Perry Rucker of Greenwich, Ohio; and a sister, Loretta Rucker of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mason E. and Emma Jean Rucker; and brothers, James Rucker and Gary Rucker.
