Diane Fortin

Diane E. Fortin (nee Francis), age 84, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at University Hospital St. John Medical Center in Westlake, Ohio.

Born November 23, 1939, in Elyria, Ohio to Raymond A. and Margarete C. (nee Farrand) Francis, Diane lived in the Lorain County area her entire life.  She graduated from Elyria High School in 1958 where she can acapella in the choir. Following high school, she went on to work for Worthington Ball, Western Automatic and Duffin Manufacturing.  She was also a member of Sweet Adeline’s Ladies Barbershop Group.

She enjoyed line dancing, sewing and crochet.

Surviving is her brother, Raymond E. Francis; grandchildren, Michael Fortin, Thomas Fortin, Geoff Stabler and Stephanie Banuelos and great granddaughter, Faith Yarbrough; great-great grandson, Thomas Michael Yarbrough; as well as nieces, Megan and nephews, Raymond and Eric.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred E. Fortin in 1993; children, Thomas Fortin and William Fortin, Jean Fortin and George Fortin; both of her parents; sister, Marjorie Cristell as well as her grandson, Billy Fortin.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 26 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.  Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
