Dionisia "Nisia" Castillo, (nee Ramirez), age 86, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at her residence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on April 8, 1920 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico moving to Lorain in 1948.
She was employed as a seamstress for 25 years at Joseph & Fiess Company, retiring in 1972.
Nisia was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, where she was a member of the Carismatic Group and was active in many church activities.
She is survived by her son: Maximino Castillo of Vieques, Puerto Rico and a daughter: Maria Mateo, of Lorain, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years: Pedro Castillo in 1996, son: Herman Castillo in March 4, 2006; daughters, Miriam Castillo and Aurea Castillo; a sister, Eulalia Romero; brothers, Alfonso Ramirez, Ramon Ramirez and Luis Ramirez.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Friends may also call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, Rev. Fr. James Schmidt, pastor of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be held in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
