Dolores "Dona Lola" Sanabria, (nee Jimenez) age 88, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at her residence, following a brief illness.
She was born on November 16, 1923 in Camuy, Puerto Rico, living in New York City prior to moving to Lorain in 1957.
Dolores was employed in the cafeteria at Lowell, Whittier and Southview Schools for 20 years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Dolores enjoyed being a wife and homemaker. She also loved reading the newspaper, gardening, playing the lottery and being with her family.
She is survived by her son: Gerald "Jerry" Sanabria, of Columbus, daugters: Mary R. Sanabria-Simko, Enid Sanabria, both of Lorain, 2 grandchildren: Thalia and Luis Mena.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years: Juan, sons: Roland Sanabria in 2006, Luis Palacios in 1989, sister: Antonia Roman and brother: Rafael Roman.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held on Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. followed by a mass at Sacred Heart Chapel, at 10:30. Rev. Fr. John Retar, pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Xavier Parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
