Donald Wayne Edmonson, age 86 of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at his residence.
Born June 5, 1938, to Donald and Ada Mae (nee O’Baker) Edmonson, Donald moved to Ohio in 1959. He worked for National Gypsum Company for 42 years before retiring in 2006.
Donald was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Above all he was a dedicated father and grandfather.
Surviving are his daughters, Debra (Philip) Trudeau and Master Sergeant Sherry (Ronnie) Anderson; son, Donald W. Edmonson; many beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Thomas Edmonson and a sister, Mary Lou Rosey.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Virginia Edmonson; both of his parents as well as his siblings, David, Glada, Ronnie, Bill and Shirley.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 31 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. Certified Life Celebrant, Obed Melendez will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
