Donna Lurz

Donna Jo Lurz (nee Wright), age 61, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Born October 4, 1963, in Lorain, to Sherman and Josephine (nee Bunnell) Wright, Donna lived in Lorain most of her life. In 1982, she graduated from Admiral King High School. 

She enjoyed crafts and reading her bible. No matter what happened in life, her faith never wavered. Her greatest joy was raising her children and caring for her family as well as laughing and enjoying life’s moments with them. Her distinguishable laugh will forever be remembered by her family.

Surviving is her daughter Brandi (Jason) Hurn; sons, Michael Lurz and Jimmy (Sarah) Lurz; grandchildren, Tyler (Sarah), Gwen (Dustin), Justus, Cordie, Jayden, Jordan, Elizabeth, Wes and Rosella; great grandchildren, Oaklee and Cade; sister, Nancy Johnson as well as her best friend and caregiver, Shelly Pruchnicki.

She was preceded in death by her son, Harold “Joey” Graver in 2022; husbands, Michael Lurz in 2023, Tom Hamilton in 2021 and Harold “Bear” Graver in 2008; as well as both of her parents; brothers, Stanley Wright and David Wright and sisters, Patsy Woolf and Reva Graver.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 26 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
