Dorothy M. Dulick (nee Wood), age 84, of Lorain, died on Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Community Health Partners, following a brief illness.
She was born on April 26, 1925, in Lorain, Ohio. She had lived in Avon for 20 years, finally moving to Lorain in 1945. She was a 1942 graduate of Avon High School.
Dorothy was a baker in the Dietary Department at St. Joseph Hospital for 16 years, before retiring from there in 1987. Previous to this, she worked at City Bank as a bookkeeper from 1948-1953, and then was a bookkeeper at Central Bank from 1953-1956.
She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society as well.
Dorothy's favorite hobby was baking. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Williams, of Lorain, her son-in-law, Charlie Williams, of Lorain, two grandchildren; Nicole Williams, of Lorain, and Nathan Williams, of Wilmington, NC, and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, in 2000, parents; Mayo, in 1970 and Dorothy (nee Hunt) Wood, in 1991, her brother, Mayo Wood, in 1987, and her sister, Johanna Simon, in 2008.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a Rosary will be held at 3:30 pm. Friends will also be received on Friday, at 9:30 am, in the funeral home, for prayers. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am, at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain, Ohio 44055. The Rev. Fr. Thomas Smith, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
