Dorothy L. Karwatske

Dorothy L. Karwatske, (nee Layport), age 79, of Grafton, died on Friday, January 7, 2011 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on July 3, 1931 in Oberlin, Ohio. She lived in Elyria until moving to Grafton in 1974.
Dorothy was employed at AVI Foods for 10 years, retiring in 2007.
She enjoyed crafting, collecting Betty Boop Collectibles and sun bathing.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter; Sandra Boyer, of Bay City, Texas, sons: Dwayne (Anita) Harmon, of Lorain, Rick (Sue) Harmon, of Elyria, grandchildren, Coy Harmon, of Elyria, Jennifer Greenway, of Bay City, TX, Steven Harold, of Elyria and Emily Fekete, of Lorain, great grandchildren, Haley, Morgan and Taylor Greenway, sisters, Marie Sugaski, of Norwalk, Leona "Jeannie" Gunter, of Sullivan, Beverly Speer and Patricia Pugh of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo R. Karwatske, who passed away December 21, 2010, parents, Orval and Elsie (nee Tolhurst) Layport, brothers, William, Howard, Ralph "Bud", Donald "Butch" and sister, Viola Jemma.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 13, 2011, from 10:15 am, until the time of services at 11:00, at Midway Baptist Church, 41812 Griswold Road, Elyria, Ohio. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Rev. Charles Keesee, Pastor, will officiate.
