Dorothy M. Shullick (nee Jeambert), 86, of Vermilion, passed away Saturday, September 05, 2015 at Kingston of Vermilion following a lengthy illness.
Born September 18, 1928 in Lorain, she graduated from Lorain High School and lived in Lorain until moving to Vermilion in 2006.
Dorothy retired from Pat Catan's in 1995, where she had worked for 5 years as a designer. Prior to this, she worked for the Lorain City School System as a teacher's aid. Dorothy and her late husband Robert owned and operated D & B Ceramics many years ago.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain. Dorothy enjoyed knitting and liked spending time with the Vermilion Public Library's Thursday knitting group.
Dorothy was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay.
Surviving are her sons, Lawrence and Andrew both of Elyria; a daughter, Margaret (Earl) Wiegand of Vermilion; grandchildren, Robert Wiegand, Earl Wiegand III and Michael Wiegand; great grandchildren, Emily, Sarah and Quinn.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Robert Shullick in 1988; parents, Eugene and Anna (nee Bastain) Jeambert; a brother, Carl; and sisters, Betty Benavage and Roma Hackey.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Rev. David Plant, Interim Minister of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Amherst, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
