Dorothy Welch, (nee Rocher), age 92, of Vermilion, died Sunday, July 18, 2004 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born May 17, 1912 in Lorain, she lived in Florida for 17 years before returning to live in Sheffield Twp., in 1994. Most recently, she had been residing in assisted living in Vermilion.
She was a homemaker, and enjoyed leather carving, knitting, needlepoint and her pets. She was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainman Auxiliary.
Surviving are 3 nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, John Paul Welch, in 1977, brothers, John Rocher, Franck Rocher, Stacy Rocher, and Chester R. Rocher, sisters, Martha Baier, Mary Ruminski, and Clara Majorseck.
Private services are being handled by the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain.
