Edna Maxine Bull (nee Von Wert), 82 of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Kingston of Vermilion following a lengthy illness.
Born November 26, 1931 in Springfield, Illinois, she has lived in Lorain since 1949.
Edna worked as a kitchen helper at the former Tudy's Restaurant in Elyria, retiring in 1995. She also worked in many other restaurants and worked as a cab driver. She volunteered at her church as an elementary Sunday school teacher and helped with church maintenance. Edna loved teaching children about Jesus, singing in church and playing outdoor games with children.
Surviving is her son, Carl (Patty) Williams of Pennsylvania; daughters, Virginia (Edward) Parsons, Elizabeth Foisy, Mariedna "Scooter" (Paul) Parsons, Carlene (Johnny) Clark all of Lorain, Martha Thomas of Wellington, Linda (Kenneth) Kanavel of Indiana, Lodema Gonzalez of Texas and Roberta Spenski of Columbus; 90 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson E. Bull in 2003; a son, Joseph "Jody" Coffey in 1972; and her parents, Edwin M. Von Wert in 1968 and Eunice L. (nee Clark) Von Wert in 1978; her step father, Joseph A. Green in 1979; brothers, Maxwell and Delmar; and a sister Annetta Tahya.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 until the time of funeral services at 3:00 pm at The Church of Acts, 2314 Leavitt Rd, Lorain. Rev. Karen Kaiser, pastor will officiate along with Virginia Thoen. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
