Edna L. Scott (nee Eglinski), age 81, of Lorain, died on Sunday, December 18, 2005, at the New Life Hospice Center in Lorain, after a two year illness.

She was born on December 7, 1924 in Lorain and has lived here her entire life.

She had graduated from Lorain High School in 1942. She had also obtained her degree from Kent State. After her college graduation, she returned to Lorain High School to teach English for 9 years and was then a media specialist at Lorain Catholic High School until she retired in 1993.

Edna was very proud of her service in the Woman's Army Corp (WAC), during World War II. She had joined the WAC's on December 7, 1944. Some of her experiences were included in a recent book she had helped to write, "It's Hard To Salute Standing In a Wall Locker, A Collection of WWII Memories."

She was an avid reader, and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and her laptop computer. Before she became ill, she enjoyed knitting, bowling, and playing bingo.

Edna is survived by a sister; Norma J. Pacl, of Hermitage, TN, 3 nieces; Peggy Asensio, of Lorain, Denise Keron, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Susi Willis, of Hermitage, TN, and a nephew, Martin Glenn, of Deptford, NJ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Alexander and Emma (nee Massa) Eglinski, and a sister, Bernice M. Bober.

Private interment will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, are handling arrangements.
