Edward A. Mulica, 85, of Amherst, died on Saturday, October 1, 2005 in the Amherst Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Born on October 1, 1920 in South Amherst, Mr. Mulica had been a lifelong Lorain County resident.
He had attended the South Amherst Schools. During World War II, he had served in the Army Air Corps.
He had been employed at Bendix Corporation in Elyria for over 17 years as a production welded, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst and was a life-member and held the 3rd Degree of the Knight's of Columbus in Amherst. He had coached Youth League Baseball in Amherst. He enjoyed boating, fishing, antique's, traveling and sports.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years- Ruth M. (nee-Petzke) Mulica; 2 sons- David Mulica of Norwalk and Joseph Mulica of Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents- Joseph and Justina (nee-Justaravich) Mulica; 2 brothers- Bernard and Victor; 2 sisters- Anna and Mary; a granddaughter and a nephew.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 from 4-8 p.m., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Warner, officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
