Edward C. Thomas, age 82, of Lorain, died on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, Lorain, following an extended illness.
He was born on January 31, 1922 in McKeesport, PA, moving to Lorain 55 years ago.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Edward was employed as a sales manager at Bendix H.V.S.G. in Elyria for 32 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post #1662, Amherst, Amvets Post 47, in Lorain, Amvets Post #22, Vermilion.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching pro football and basketball and enjoyed landscaping his yard.
He is survived by his son: Michael J. Thomas, of Lorain, daughter: Antoinette Thomas, of Atlanta, Georgia, and 1 grandson: Christopher Thomas, of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Michael and Mary Thomas, sisters: Jean Krall and Irene Elbert, 2 brothers: Leonard and Herbert Thomas.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a memorial service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Rev. William Schill, deacon of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, will officiate.
