Eleanor M. Adams (nee McKinney), 77, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a short illness.
Born March 16, 1938 in Teaberry, Kentucky, she lived in Michigan and Columbus before moving to Lorain in 1968. For the past 11 years she has lived in Elyria.
Eleanor was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Elyria where she was active with the Silver Saints. She was also a member of Fleming Avenue Baptist Church, Lorain. Eleanor enjoyed playing corn hole, reading the Bible and spending time on her computer and Facebook.
Surviving are her children, Darlene (Buddy) Baker of Lorain, Raymond (Diana) Adams and Jeffrey (Debbie) Adams both of Vermilion, Lucinda (Gary) Copen and Diana Adams both of Lorain, Samantha Walker-Adams of Hinckley, Ohio and John (Cindy) Adams of Lorain; 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and a great great-grandson; brothers, Bertly McKinney and Don McKinney both of Lorain; and sisters, Marie Thacker of Lorain and Kathy Spicer of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Walker Adams in 2014; sons, Randy and Milford; brothers, Henry, Scott, Ronald and Richard Jr.; and a sister, Beatrice Mulkey.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Midway Baptist Church, 41812 Griswold Road, Elyria, where funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 am. Rev. Charles Keesee, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain is handling the arrangements.
