Eleanor M. Chimenti

Eleanor M. Chimenti (nee Colella), age 88, passed away on December 15, 2020 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

Born September 4, 1932 to Arnold and Emily (nee Salvetta) Colella in Lorain, Ohio, Eleanor was a lifelong resident of Lorain. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1950.  She was also a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain and was a devoted Catholic with great faith who enjoyed saying the rosary and praying for others.

She enjoyed attending Saint Paul Shrine in Cleveland as well as the Italian festivals.

Survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward Chimenti; daughter, Diane (David) Chimenti Fate; granddaughter, Taylor Fate; sister, Ellen Pongracz; sister in-law, Ruth Colella as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dominic Colella, Arnold Colella Jr. and Sid Colella; sister, Connie Petrillo and her brother in-law, Fior Petrillo.

Private services were held in Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain..  Rev. Craig Hovanec, Pastor of St. Peter Parish officiated.  Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.  To send online condolences go to www.dovinfcs.com.
