Elizabeth Aranyi (nee Ciccati), 76, of Lorain, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, following a lengthy illness.
Born September 13, 1928 in Lorain, she was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1948 as class valedictorian. After graduating from Huron Road Nursing School Cleveland, 1954, she worked as a registered nurse for the former St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain.
Mrs. Aranyi was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel, Lorain, and volunteered at the Lorain Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, artistry, playing the piano and church activities. She most recently resided at the Anchor Lodge Assisted Living Center.
Elizabeth is survived by sons, Michael, Dennis and Jeff of Ohio, David of Maryland, James of Georgia; 3 grandchildren; brothers, Lou Ciccati, Sam Ciccati, and Dan Ciccati of California, David Ciccati of Arizona; sisters, Mary Altomare of Ohio, Edith Genaro, Irene Dulisse, and Marlene Ciccati of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Louis M. Aranyi, brothers Ben and Joseph Ciccati, and sister, Elaine Voelker.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel, 2655 Broadway, Lorain. Elder Mark Naro will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
