Elvira Naro, (nee Calabrese) 89 of Lorain, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at Kingston of Vermilion following a lengthy illness.
Born Jan. 26, 1923 in Monessen, Pa., she life long resident of Lorain.
She attended Lorain High School and worked in retail for several years. She also worked as a cook at Clearview High School and in the bakery of Tops grocery store.
Elvira was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel, Lorain, where she served as Deaconess for many years. She also served as secretary of the church for 25 years, and served as president of the church's Ladies Circle.
Surviving are her sons, Timothy (Kimberly) of Amherst, Mark (Carey Beth) of Lorain, and Kevin (Denise) of Yorkville, IL.; a daughter Carla (Gary) King of Amherst; grandchildren, Zachary, Eli, Ethan, Elaine, Libby, Kyle, Cory, Cole, Jade, Madison, Tracy, Bethany, Brianna; great grandchildren, Heidi, Katy, Lincoln, Jackson, Max, Kyle, Emily, Rachael and Cameron
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1996; brothers, John, Joseph, Louis, James, and Peter; sisters, Emma Hales, Mary Sorino and Rose Sheriff Howard.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel, 2655 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Elvira's son, Elder Mark Naro, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
