Emigene Ola Harcsar, (nee Evans) 86 of Lorain, died Monday, March 6, 2006 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 20, 1920 in Portsmouth; she has lived in Lorain area most of her life.
She worked as an assembler at General Industries in Elyria, retiring in 1977.
She attended the Good Hope Freewill Baptist Church, Elyria, and was a member of Take Off Pounds Sensibly, OH 1105 division.
She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, embroidery, cooking and crocheting.
Surviving is her son, Julius Harsar of Oberlin; daughters, Penny Lunn of Lorain, and Rose Branim of Elyria; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Julius Harcsar in 1983; a son, Donald Harsar; daughter, Margie Harsar and Betty Bennington in 1995; parents, Ord Evans in 1951 and Clara (nee Lute) in 1941; brothers, William Eugene Evans and Howard Evans; a sisters, Gladys Neely, and Helen Pollack.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church, 42503 Butternut Ridge Road, Elyria. Rev. Paul Peterson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
