Emily M. Torrens (nee Dudziak), age 79, of Lorain, died on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at Golden Acres Nursing Home, Amherst.
She was born on July 22, 1929 in Lorain, where she was a lifelong resident. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Emily was employed at Community Health Partners as a housekeeper for 10 years, before retiring in 1993. She enjoyed playing BINGO, and cards.
Emily is survived by her sons; Bill, of Belue, North Dakota, Tony, of Vermilion, and Raymond, of North Ridgeville, daughters; Martha Stedman, of Clearwater, FL, Jean Nickles, of Oberlin, Jane Meyers, of Fostoria, Michelle Torrens, of Wakeman, and Judy Kirby, of Vermilion, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a sister, Cecilia Kowalczyk, of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by, her parents, Karl and Katherine (nee Kulik) Dudziak, sisters; Mary Erving, Veronica Palmer, and Frances Rapolz, and her brothers; Richard and Leonard.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2008, from 6-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
