Ernest E. "Ivy" Malone, age 54, of Lorain, died on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland from injuries sustained in a pedestrian car accident.
He was born on January 17, 1952 in Buchel, Kentucky, moving to Lorain when he was 13 years old.
He enjoyed bicycling, pets, attending various churches, writing music and playing harmonica in a local rhythm & blues band called D.C & the Continentals where he also sang vocals.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years: Penny (nee Baxter), daughter: Gena Ward, of Wakeman, mother: Evelyn Malone, of Lorain, and step-father: Allen Wallace, of Lorain, brother: Joseph Malone, of Louisville, KY, sisters: Allene Barrett, of Oak Hills, California and Brenda Ravenscroft, of Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his father: Joseph H. Malone, brother: Earl Malone and sisters: Wanda Fay Malone, Sandra Beatty and Janet Duncan.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Raymond Munoz, pastor of Warriors of Faith Multi Nations Church, Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
