Esther L. Meinke, (nee Dennis), age 76, of Elyria, died on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at Hospice of the Cleveland Clinic, following a short illness.
Born February 8, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri, she moved to Sandusky in 1935. She also lived in Lagrange where she graduated from Beldon High School in 1947. Esther then moved to Elyria where she lived the rest of her life.
She was employed as a union steward and an inspection leader for Moen Corporation for 24 years before retiring. Prior to this she worked for General Industries, Elyria for 19 years.
She was a member of the Local UAW #101 and the American Business Women of America.
Esther enjoyed bowling, golfing and camping.
She is survived by her daughter: Lynette Scott, of Elyria, sons: Michael Meinke of Grafton, Todd Meinke of Elyria, 8 grandsons, 2 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter and brother: Clifford Dennis of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Arthur F. Meinke, Jr. in 1975, parents: Charles and Maude (nee Cross) Dennis, sister: Eulala Dennis and brothers: Charles Dennis, Samuel Dennis and Lawrence Dennis.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Rev. Robert Schroyer, pastor of Church of the Open Door, will officiate. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
