Etheline L. "Tot" Goforth, (nee Lusk) age 78, of Lorain, died on Monday, July 19, 2010 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 8, 1932 in McComas, West Virginia, she had lived in Virginia before moving to Lorain in 1983.
She taught ceramic classes at Pandora's for 15 years. Prior to this she was the landlord for apartment buildings,
She volunteered at the Salvation Army, participating in the Hot Meals program and volunteered for the Home League, as well, for many years. She was a board member and also taught Bible Study for Haven Church, and was involved in Nursing Home Ministry. She was very involved with all activities for her church and enjoyed helping others, especially the homeless.
She enjoyed painting ceramics.
Etheline is survived by her daughter, Dorothy "Dottie" Elizabeth Massie, of Bluefield, WV, 3 grandsons, Nicholas, Jay and Jonathon, sisters; Maxine King, of Princeton, WV and Shirley Alfano, of Polk, WV, and life-long friends; Loretta "Ann" Gregg and Mary Adkins. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde in 1986, son Clyde Joseph Jr. in 2000, daughter, Kimberly Ann McPeake, parents, Troy Lee and Clara (nee Peake) Lusk, brothers, Ernest Lusk, George Lusk, Ray Lusk, Kenneth Lusk and Farley Lusk, sister, Helen Ruiz, and a grandson, Nicholas Massie in 1996.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 23, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, at 1:00 pm. Pastor D.J. Murray, of the Haven Church of Lorain and Geneva Hendricks, also of the Haven Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
