Eugene Martincin

Eugene F. "Gene" Martincin, age 82 of Lorain, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at his home following a short illness.
He was born on January 30, 1932 in Lorain, where he lived his entire life. Eugene was a 1950 graduate of Lorain High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was employed as a clerk for the US Postal Service for 31 years, retiring in 1987. Eugene was a member of Amvets Post #55, American Legion Post #30 and VFW Post #451. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Penny) Martincin, of Lorain, daughters, Kathy (Dennis) Lanter, of Cincinnati and Maureen Martincin of Elyria, brothers, Richard Martincin of Sheffield Village and Anthony Martincin of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his wife 55 years, Barbara J. (nee Klemmer) Martincin in 2011, parents, Joseph and Sophie (nee Hoya) Martincin, brother, Joseph Martincin, sisters, Helen Bacha, Cecilia Farkas, Mildred Groboske, Eleanore Butchko, Betty Simo and Darlene Kajganich.
