Eva Frances Pena (nee Inchaurregui), age 81, of Lorain, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Meadows of Osborne Park in Huron following a lengthy illness.
Born October 26, 1939 in Michoacán, Mexico, she came to Lorain in 1944 where she has resided since. Eva was a 1958 graduate of Clearview High School. She worked 20 years as a supervisor at the former Kmart in Amherst and Super Kmart in Lorain, retiring in 1999.
Eva was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain and she served as president of the Guadalupe Society. She enjoyed meeting with her “club” of high school girlfriends once a month. She also enjoyed gardening. Eva was a great cook and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Gilbert (Dana) Pena and John (Shari) Pena both of Amherst, Francine (Tim) Connors of East Hampton, NY and Fred Pena III of Lorain; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Sergio, Jerry and Johnny all of California, Danny of Kentucky and Jimmy of Lorain; sisters, Maria “Stella” Wicker of Vermilion, Raquel “Babe” Hall of Amherst and Martha Smith of Phoenix.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Fred Pena Jr. in 2000; parents, Manuel and Frances (nee Furci) Inchaurregui; grandchildren, John F. Pena in 2012 and Angela Pena in 2019; brothers, Renaldo and Zeno; and sisters, Flora and Rita.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 8:30 am until the time of mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. William Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Social distancing along with the wearing of a mask is required to attend.
