Evelyn H. Perrotto Filipovic, (nee Hayden) 89, of Lorain, died Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Lorain Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 23, 1916 in Youngstown, OH, living in Meadville, PA before coming to Lorain in 1955.
She worked for Weitz in Lorain as a presser for many years. She had also worked in local area homes doing housework.
She was a member of St. Mark Serbian Orthodox Church, Sheffield, and the Ladies Guild of the church. She enjoyed reading.
Surviving are her sons, Nick Perrotto of Avon, and Dan Perrotto of Tempe, AZ, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sisters, Mildred Tate of Youngstown, OH, and Helen Leto of Pittsburgh, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Jovica "Joe" Filopovic, in 1982, her parents, Peter Hayden and Mildred (nee Radnovich) Hayden, sisters, Kay Musulin in 2002, Louise Budjan and Mary Thayer, and a brother, Nick Hayden.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. in The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a parastas service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Basil Stoyka, pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
