Evelyn Lagares (nee Silva), age 53, formerly of Lorain, passed away August 6, 2008, after a sudden illness.
She was born on November 10, 1954 in Morovis, Puerto Rico to the late Felipe D. Silva and Maria Silva (nee Sanchez).
Evelyn enjoyed music and decorating! She especially loved being around her family, children, and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Nelson, sons; Jose Bermudez, of Lorain, Daniel and Elias Bermudez, of Columbus, daughters; Josephine Bermudez, of Lorain, Marisol Martinez, of Lorain, Janelle Lagares, of FL, six grandchildren, her mother, Maria Silva (nee Sanchez), of Lorain, brothers; Luis P. Silva, of Elyria, Juan, Norberto, and Edwin Silva, all of Lorain, and her sisters; Diana Silva-Rebman, of Avon Lake, Maria Rosalez, Mabel Kline, Nancy Gonzalez, and Maribel Fulks, all of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her father, Felipe D. Silva and her sister, Doris Silva.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 10, from 6-9 pm, in the House of Praise, 4321 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held the following morning at 10:00 am. The Rev. Gilbert Silva, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donation envelopes will be provided during the visitation and service at the church.
