Felix Velez-Galarza, 80, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born May 1, 1937 in Caguas, Puerto Rico, he came to Lorain in 1966 and worked at various greenhouses for several years.
Surviving is his sister, Gloria Phillips of Lorain; nieces and nephews, Mariam Phillips, Elizabeth Roldan, Daisy Velez-Rosario and Tyler Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Ceferina (nee Galarza) Velez.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. William Thaden, pastor will officiate.
