Fermin V. Rosales Sr., 81, of Lorain, died Friday, May 25, 2007 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West following a short illness.
He was born July 7, 1925 in Donna, Texas; he came to Lorain in 1951 where he has lived since.
Fermin worked 37 years at Lorain Works US Steel as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 1104.
He enjoyed playing pool, fishing and listening to Mexican music. He was also an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan.
Surviving are his daughters, Susana Ayala of Lorain, Carmen Ferrell of Arlington, Washington, Evelyn Rodriguez, of Lorain; sons, Gabriel Rosales and Rafael "Ralph" Rosales both of Abilene, Kansas, Fermin Rosales Jr. of Kent, Ohio, Robert Rosales of Santa Paula, California, Ramon Rosales of Independence, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; a sister, Daria Rodriguez of Muleshoe, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Natalia H. (nee Hernandez) Rosales in 1994; parents, Martin Rosales and Fermina (nee Villea) Rosales; a daughter, Zaida Rosales in 2005; brothers, Pasqual Rosales, Luis Rosales, and Pablo Rosales.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
