Florence N. Horinek (nee Leshinski), 92, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
Born August 11, 1922 in Lorain, she was a life long area resident. She attended Lorain City Schools and was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lorain.
She worked in retail for a short time and was a homemaker for most of her life. Florence enjoyed playing bingo and watching TV.
Surviving is her son, Dennis Harcula of Lorain; 3 grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Mager and Marcella Grumbos both of Lorain; brothers Stanley Leshinski, Allen Leshinski and Frank Leshinski all of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Harcula in 1966; her second husband, John Horinek in 1998; parents, Ignatz and Wanda (nee Havant); sisters, Theresa Sorok, Lucille Waldecki, Virginia Kudlo, Irene Racz, Frances Brumback and Marian Hughe; brothers, Edward Leshinski and John Leshinski.
The family wished to express their sincere gratitude Florence's caregivers at Avon Oaks Nursing Home, her physicians and to ViaQuest Family Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Donald H. Dunson, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
