Francisca Reyes (nee Nieves), 88 of Amherst Twp, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born May 11, 1927 in Caguas, Puerto Rico, she came to Lorain in 1953.
She attended Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and cooking.
Surviving are her children, Cecilia Reyes, Rosa (Dennis) Rubin, Irma (Bob) Schuka, Fred (Serita) Reyes, Jose D. (Cathy) Reyes, Wilson (Kathy) Reyes and Aides (Mel) Reyes; 30 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many great great-grandcildren; brothers, Crispino Nieves, Felix Nieves and Raymond Nieves; sisters, Carmen Nieves and Donna Nieves.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jose DeJesus Reyes in 2008; her daughter, Hilda Rodriguez in 1997; parents, Hermogemes and Benedicta (nee Galarza) Nieves; and several brothers and sisters.
