Frank J. Uszak Jr., 61 of Lorain, died Monday, June 7, 2010 at St. John West Shore Hospital, Westlake following a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 8, 1949 in Lorain, he was a life long resident here. He graduated from Admiral King High School in 1967 and attended Lorain County Community College and Akron University.
Frank's entire career was in banking. For 34 years, he worked as the bank manager for various local banks, and most recently at First Federal Savings and Loan of Lorain.
He was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, a past member of Lorain Lions Club, and he had served on the board of El Centro De Servicios Sociales Inc.
Frank loved his family and was very family orientated. He had a special fondness for his granddaughter and found great pleasure spending time with her. He enjoyed golfing, going to the movies, dining out and sports. Frank was well known by all for his great sense of humor.
Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Maria (nee Beluszky); a son, John M. of Lorain; a daughter, Jennifer M. Uszak of Lorain; and a granddaughter, Madison M. Uszak; a brother, Michael (Melody) of Rome City, IN; and a sister, Barbara J. (Richard) Bobrowski of Lorain;
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank in 1985; and mother, Margaret A. "Marge" (nee Hornick) Uszak in 2009.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 2:00 pm in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Robert J. Dybo, deacon of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Lorain, will officiate.
