Gaspar Vazquez-Gomez

Gaspar Vazquez-Gomez, age 84, of Lorain, died on Thursday, October 07, 2010 at his residence, while under the care of New Life Hospice.
He was born on January 5, 1926 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, moving to this area in 1999.
Gaspar was employed as a farmer in Puerto Rico, where he also ran a lottery service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain.
Gaspar enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elena DeJesus Colon Vazquez, sons; Gilberto Vazquez, of Lorain, Angel Luis Vazquez, of Rio Piedras, PR, Heriberto Vazquez, of Caguas, PR, Antonio Vazquez, of Carolina, PR and Jesus Manuel Vazquez, of Rio Piedras, PR, daughters; Ines Vazquez, of Lorain, Carlina Vazquez, of Rio Piedras, PR, Santa Vazquez, of Caguas, PR, Juana Vazquez, of Lorain and Maribel Vazquez, of Carolina, PR, 28 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Anselmo Vazquez, of San Lorenzo, PR, 3 sisters; Margarita Vasquez, of Caguas, PR, Josefa Vazquez, of San Lorenzo, PR and Claudina Vazquez, of Bayamon, PR.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Damaso, Facundo, Pedro and sisters, Fela and Bernardina.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 8, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Jose Flores, Deacon of Sacred Heart Chapel, will officiate. Burial will take place in Puerto Rico.
