George Dzoba, age 87, of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness.
Born on November 3, 1922 in Taylor, PA he moved to Lorain in 1924.
He served in the Army Reserves as a private at Ft. Knox, KY in the 83rd infantry division during the early 1950's.
George and his late wife, Rev. Maude H. Dzoba, founded Bethel Chapel in Lorain in 1952 where his wife had pastored for many years.
He retired in 1983 after 41 years at Lorain Works US Steel where he worked as a loader. George was a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local #1104.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Maude H. (nee Hubbard) Dzoba in 1999; and several brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 noon in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Danny Parsons, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
