George T. Waters

George T. Waters Jr., age 92 of Elyria, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria, Ohio

Born July 13, 1930 to George and Rose (nee Decalier) Waters Sr., George later moved to Mentor, Ohio where he spent most of his life. Following high school, George enlisted in the Marines. He later worked for CEI in Cleveland as a supervisor for many years until his retirement and was also a member of Saint John Vianney Church in Mentor.

He and his wife enjoyed camping, fishing and spending summers in Maine.

Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Sophie (nee Yesko) Waters as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces as well as numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his aunt, Carmaline.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29 from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Rev. Charles T. Diedrick will officiate. Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists is handling the arrangements.
