Gerald Blazina

Gerald (Jerry) Blazina, age 74, of Avon, Ohio passed away in February 2025, after battling several illnesses. 

Jerry was born on June 24, 1950 to Joseph and Helen Blazina in Lorain, Ohio and grew up in Sheffield Lake. Jerry attended Brookside High School and devoted his early years to the medical profession in Lorain County saving countless lives as a Paramedic. He then served as the Director of Mobile Emergency Services at Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin. He also had a passion for teaching, where he was an EMT instructor at the Lorain County Joint Vocational School for many years. 

Jerry is survived by his daughter Michele Wagner (nee Blazina), son in law Joe Wagner, and two grandsons, Landon and Leo, and former spouse, Karen Blazina. Private services were held at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists in Lorain, Ohio.
