Gerald Louis Crawford, 57, of Lorain, passed away Feb. 29, 2008 at his residence.
Born August 29, 1950 in Amherst, he lived in Campbell, KY before returning to live in Lorain 29 years ago. He was a 1969 graduate of Elyria High School, and served in the US Army.
He worked as a custodian for Lorain City Schools from 1983 until retiring in 1991. He attended Grace Baptist Church, Lorain, and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed auto racing and drag racing.
Surviving is his brother, Richard of Lorain; sisters, Joyce McKenty of Lorain, Carol Crawford and Dora Langwasser both of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Lafayette Crawford in 1972, and Florence "Flo" Naomi (nee Eddy) Crawford in 1999.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Jay Roller, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. Twp.
