Gertrud F. Tummel

Gertrud F. Tummel, (nee Hartmann), 81 of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at her residence while under the care of New Life Hospice following a lengthy illness.
Born October 19, 1932 in Germany, she came to the United States in 1965 and settled in Lorain in 1975.
Gertrud worked as a teachers aid for Lorain City School for 30 years, retiring in 2012. She enjoyed knitting, reading and puzzles.
Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Lester; sons, Peter Hartmann of Germany, Ray Tummel of Dayton, and John Tummel of Wellington; daughters, Debbie Dirks of South Carolina and Manuela Comire of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and a brother, Rudolf Hartmann in Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Georg and Antonie (nee Ruckel) Hartmann; a brother, Hans Hartmann; and a grandson, Matthew Tummel.
