Glen Hobbs, age 63, of Lorain, died Saturday, June 10, 2006 at his residence, while under the care of New Life Hospice, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on January 2, 1943 in Pikeville, KY. He's lived in Lorain since 1958.
He worked as a heat treater in the heat treat dept. of Arrow Aluminum Casting Company, Avon Lake for 29 years, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of Little Edna Old Regular Baptist Church.
He enjoyed church, fishing, hunting and camping, and restoring old cars.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years: Florence (nee Slone) of Lorain, son: Larry Glen Hobbs, of Yakima, WA, and 1 grandson, brothers: Clifton Hobbs, of Nelsonville, Carl E. Hobbs, of Lorain, sisters: Sylvia J. Cavanaugh, of Grafton, Florence E. Johnson and Cathy S. Slone, both of Liberty, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ergel "Rose" Hobbs in 1988 and Gertrude (nee Blackburn) in 2004, brothers: Clayton Hobbs in 2002 and Tildren in infancy.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 - 9 p.m. with an evening service at 6 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at Little Edna Old Regular Baptist Church, 5160 Bond Avenue, Sheffield Township. Rev. Hobart Justice, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp. Ohio.
