Gloria M. Santiago, age 84, of Vermilion, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the New life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, after a brief illness.
She was born on August 17, 1928 in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, moving to this area in the1950's. She was a member of the former Spanish Evangelical Disciples of Christ Church and was also a life member of Iglesia Unida of Guayanilla.
Gloria is survived by her daughters; Noemi (Donald) Duell, of Amherst, Martha (David) Marski, with whom Gloria had made her home with for the past few years, of Vermilion, Carmen (Angelo) Angelis, of Winterhaven, FL, and Gloria (Sergio) Herrera, of Palmdale, CA, her daughter-in-law, Pamela Santiago, of Wilmington, NC, 8 grandchildren; John (June) Santiago, of Castle Rock, CO, Angela (Michael) Mendak, of Weston, FL, Anna (Dan) Tyson, of Avon Lake, Jennifer (Michael) Hester, of Jacksonville, NC, Holly Marski, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Sergio, Michael, and Amanda Herrera, all of Palmdale, CA, 11 great grandchildren, and a brother, Luis Santiago, of St. Augustine, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Pedro J. Santiago, in 1989, a son, Pedro J. "Pete" Santiago, Jr., in 2005, a great granddaughter, Gabriella Biczykowski, brothers; Carlos and Jorge Rodriguez, a sister, Teresa Cortes, and her parents; Jose E. and Martina (nee Lugo) Rodriguez.
