Grace F. Lewis, (nee Betz) age 79, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Port Carbon, Pennsylvania on March 1, 1928. Grace moved to Lorain in 1952.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Lorain.
She was a barmaid at the German Club and Amvets Club for years. Grace was a member of the Amvets Post #47 Auxiliary, where she held the position of chaplain.
Grace enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, game shows, and seeing her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years: William E. Lewis, daughters: Grace Gonzalez, Jean Tolliver, both of Lorain, Catherine Swift, of Coral Springs, Florida and Barbara Thomas of Concord, NC, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son: John Oliver in 2006, parents, Arthur and Marion Betz, 2 brothers: Glen and Harold Betz, and sister: Jean Dogonez.
Friends will be received on Friday, January 25, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
