Harlan "Doodle" Simpson

Harlan "Doodle" Simpson, 77 of Sheffield Lake, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born August 15, 1932 in Wallins Creek, Harlan County, KY, he moved to Lorain in the 1960's where he lived for 10 years before returning to Wallins Creek. In 2009, he moved to Sheffield Lake.
Harlan worked as a sealer for Ford Motor Company's Lorain Assembly Plant for 10 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 425.
Surviving is his brothers, Jeffery Simpson of Frankfort, KY, and Carl Simpson of Lorain; sisters, Marie Engle of Amherst, and Lucille Clark of Sheffield Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sr., and Delia (nee Sullivan) Simpson; and brothers, Henry Simpson Jr., and George Simpson Sr.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am Rev. Orlando Tackett, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst twp.
